On a Bitter Sunday

So today I've been sheltering indoors from the bitter cold, ice and snow outside, working on a small piece for the Christmas exhibition at uni. Its basically a chance to exhibit whatever you fancy downstairs in the gallery and a chance to sell some work at an affordable price. (minus the ridiculous 30% commission the uni takes...)

Until I finish it in time for Tuesday morning when the show is hung and get a nice image of it to put up, for now you can get a little look at the outline of the design I'm submitting, minus all the colour etc.

Its actually a design i made a fair while ago but never got around to using it for anything until now.

Better late than never.

I'm a firm believer in the old saying 'better late than never' mainly because when it comes to getting things done, its usually done at the last minute and subsequently, late. With that in mind its about time I got round to doing my first post. This is my first and only blog so I'm a little new to this side (though I've been using Blogger for months now following some fantastic blogs to pass the time!) so please bear with me.

I'm an art student at NUCA in Norwich, England and will be posting various creative bits and pieces, some of it closely related to uni practice, some completely different as really a way of keeping some documentation of my work in one place, and hopefully to get a little feedback.

The piece below is a pencil and ink drawing made just for fun really, inspired by a culmination of old pin-ups, modern 'glamour' shots and tattoo imagery as well as pieces from various tattoo artists around the world, whose designs constantly excite and inspire. Enjoy.
